HearNote

Sight-singing to connect your eyes, ears, and voice

HearNote is a mobile app for learning sight-singing and improving sight-reading. You sing the notes on the score while the app listens through your microphone and gives feedback on pitch and rhythm.

The goal

Hear what you see on the page. Strengthen the bond between written music and sound so reading becomes hearing — and hearing guides your playing.

Key features

  • Adaptive learning path

The system analyzes your strengths and difficulties to suggest the right exercise at the right time.

  • 10 progressive levels

From first steps to advanced reading, with concepts introduced gradually.

  • Treble and bass clefs

Practice in the clef that matches your instrument — voice, piano, strings, winds, and more.

  • Transposition (B♭, E♭)

Configure transposition for instruments that read in B♭ or E♭.

  • Microphone scoring

Real-time feedback on intonation and rhythm as you sing.

  • Custom exercises

Set tempo, key, time signature, and rhythms for tailored practice.

Platforms

HearNote is available on iOS and Android. A development build is required; the app uses native audio for accurate pitch detection.
